Doctor and Surgical Options

For

Anti Wrinkle Treatment

Dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons can provide choices for patients that will offer an effective anti wrinkle treatment with few risks and little downtime. The most common treatments available are listed and explained below:

Chemical Peels

Mildest peels are performed with Alpha Hydroxy Acids such as glycolic, lactic or other fruit acids. Aha peels are especially recommended for people with fine wrinkles, some areas of dryness, pigmentation and sometimes acne. These peels are also good for people who do not have time to go for medium or deep peels that take more time to recover. Your doctor may apply this peel at weekly intervals or at other intervals depending upon the results being obtained. The normal strength of AHA such as Glycolic Acid may be 12%. You may be given a maintenance cream of an AHA in milder form to be applied everyday at home.

In the beginning of the treatment AHA peels may cause some redness, irritation or stinging. As the skin adjusts to the peel, theses effects disappear. This treatment generally takes about ten minutes during which the doctor applies the peeling solution to your face. No protective covering is required over the treated are and you can continue working normally. With your maintenance program at home, you may see a different fresh looking skin after some days. The results may not be immediately visible. Mixed with bleach this peel will also treat some uneven pigmentation.

Sun protection is necessary with this treatment. Please do not expose yourself to sun without taking adequate protection.

Eyelid surgery

Sagging upper eyelids or bags under the eyes can be one of the clearest signs of facial ageing. Patients interested in eyelid or eye brow surgery may have noticed drooping or sagging of the skin around the eyes. Eyelid surgery, technically called blepharoplasty, corrects not only the eyelids but also eye bags. Often, the procedure is done with another cosmetic operation, such as a facelift. To remove your eye bags whilst lifting your face is only a matter of more time for the surgeon. The goal of eyelid surgery is to remove excess skin gravity and sun exposure damage.  Patients usually request for surgery to remove eye bags and to firm the lower eyelid area. In lower eyelid surgery, the surgeon makes the incision in an inconspicuous site along the lash line and smile creases of the lower lid. This is a very effective way of performing the surgery without leaving any obvious scarring.

Botox

The benefits of Botox injections are obvious to most of us. It can reduce wrinkles, and crow’s feet, cause the disappearance of frown lines, and other markings around the neck.

While unknown to some there are risks associated with receiving Botox Injections. Botox is closely related to botulism, and some of the side effects can be quite dangerous. Side effects as simple as bruising or nausea can occur but more serious events such as Dysphasia—a verbal impairment or Ptosis—an abnormal paralysis in various muscles near and around the injection site can occur.

The other downside while not dangerous from a medical standpoint but more a financial one is that Botox injections do not last a long time. More over the positive effects of the injection will begin to wear off after a three or so months. Meaning you may find yourself receiving Botox three or four times a year.

Facial surgery

The face as a whole must be considered if the optimum outcome of cosmetic surgery is to be achieved.  A facelift can help rejuvenate the lower face, giving it a fresher, healthier appearance.    The face lift works well for the jaw line and the neck. By improving facial muscle tone, you can literally lift years off your face. Muscles, fat and deep tissues of the face are all lifted and repositioned so skin is draped over more youthful contours.  Most surgeons agree that the best time for the first facial cosmetic surgery is whenever it is needed. Microdermabrassion and non surgical face lifts are alternatives to surgery, in conjunction with a natural facial with elements such as green tea that promote skin wellness. It is also recommended to use facial and body massage therapy after treatments to relax you and speed your recovery. Face aerobics are terrific and can save money in cosmetic surgery.

Skin Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing is an anti wrinkle treatment that works in a similar way to chemical peels, by removing the top layer of skin cells to reveal younger-looking skin underneath. It this type of treatment, a laser is used to remove the top layer of skin with minimal discomfort and down time. The type of laser used can vary based on the amount of skin that will be addressed, with some tools precise enough to even treat the delicate skin around the eyes without affecting the rest of the face. In many cases, this is the best anti wrinkle treatment for patients for just this reason. This procedure is often completed in a single session, although some patients will opt for repeat treatments to achieve the desired results.

Laser

Nowadays, people are very preoccupied with their appearance. Some are even obsessed with how they look and science is there to take care of their needs. Everyone wants to look good and young, but the fear of operations keeps them away from making their dreams come true. Their fear is rational since a lot of harm can be done: severe blood loss, infections, anesthetic allergies, and unintended cosmetic outcomes. Any surgical procedure involves risks. Why resort to this, when cosmetic procedures by laser can be performed easier, and with fewer risks?

A laser is a device that concentrates light waves of identical color, wavelength and direction. This way it creates a precise and powerful ray. Lasers are operated only through computers therefore the risk of a human mistake is very low. Over the years, a lot of different types of laser devices have been invented. Some of the most popular ones are gas lasers, solid state lasers, dye lasers, semiconductor lasers. The gas laser with CO2 is mainly used for laser facial skin resurfacing, while the argon laser helps with blood vessel conditions like varicose vein removal. For crow’s feet removal an Erbium/EAG laser is used.

Most people who are not satisfied with their looks try to reach their ideal with the least amount of surgery possible. Through laser facial skin resurfacing the passing of years becomes invisible and there’s no surgery involved either. It can be a less painful procedure than dermabrasion via chemical peels. Laser technology has made crow’s feet removal easy, as well as general facial wrinkle removal possible, without the risks of a surgical facelift.

There are still many examples of cosmetic procedures by laser. The good thing is that all these procedures are relatively painless and show immediate results. They have one disadvantage though: they can cost a lot of money. However, if you are interested in looking younger and healthier, you may find the costs worth it.

If you are willing to do almost anything to look good and feel good at the same time, then undergoing cosmetic procedures by laser is the next best thing. The lack of pain and the amazing results of laser facial resurfacing will make you forget any conventional methods you have used. Who wouldn’t trade the smell of wax, the risky surgical procedures, and the pain for something new and better?

While all of these anti wrinkle treatments are relatively safe and effective, no medical procedure is completely without risk. Some of the concerns with these treatments are the small potential for burning the skin and the possibility that the texture or tone of the skin will change. Infection is also a risk of most medical procedures. However, for patients who are interested in achieving a younger appearance with minimal risk and recovery time, this type of anti wrinkle treatment might be the best option.
